Nyunga’s Family Tree Nyunga is thought to have been born around 1850 and produced two children; Nemeyabahizi and Nyirabahizi. Nemeyabahizi produced Paul Gitaro-Gitungwa n’Amase, Elias Ngirumpatse-Shebuja wa Rwabutogo, Anatazio (Tanasi) Bishongo, Joseph Ndimubanzi, and a daughter called Kambibi. Paul Gitaro-Gitungwa n’Amase Gitaro was the first-born of Nemeyabahizi, a grandson of Nyunga, and a great-grandson of Bukumura. He is believed to have been born around 1902, and was short, small bodied, and light skinned. He was a very sociable man. As a young man, he lived and worked in Rwanda and married several wives. It is believed he produced children who remain unknown to his relatives, especially those who stayed in Rwanda. His first known wife was called Farazia Nyiraburumbuke with whom he produced Felestance Kabami and Tereza Nyirashengero-Ikibambwiye. He later married another wife, Anastancia Kantarama and produced: Vastina Nyirambonigaba, Ben Mukakimenyi, and Beatrice Nyirambabazi. In April 1974, he relocated from Kisoro with his wife Kantarama, and settled in Ibanda to join his brother Elias Ngirumpatse and other relatives. He settled in Kamwire village neighboring his aunt Nyirabasigariye. 7 Abageyo of the Bagesera Clan After the death of her father, Gitaro, in 1980, Kabami relocated from Kisoro to Ibanda in 1987 and got a share of her father’s land and set up a home. Kabami is the mother of George Ntibalikure, Allan Nkinze, and Harrision Mukiza. George currently resides in Kanyanya Kampala and has a home in Kamwire, Kijongo Ibanda. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry, and is the Country Program Director for Catholic Relief Services.
